Trade Your Idea ("we", "us", or "our") operates the web application available at tradeyouridea.com. We provide an AI-powered tool that helps users translate market hypotheses into actionable trading instrument suggestions.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

• Account information: When you register, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
• Usage data: We track the number of searches you perform per hour solely to enforce fair-use rate limits. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
• Portfolio data: Any positions you add to your portfolio are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage on your own device. This data is never sent to or stored on our servers.
• Search queries: The hypothesis text you enter is sent to Google's Gemini AI API to generate instrument recommendations. We do not store your search queries on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect exclusively to:

• Authenticate your identity and maintain your session
• Deliver the core features of the app (AI analysis, price data, news)
• Enforce per-user rate limits to ensure fair access for all users
• Send transactional emails (e.g., email confirmation on sign-up) via Resend

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the service.

4. Third-Party Services

To deliver the app's functionality, we integrate with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Supabase — Authentication and user account management. Your email and name are stored in Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy
• Google OAuth — Optional sign-in via your Google account. Google Privacy Policy
• Google Gemini AI — Your hypothesis queries are sent to the Gemini API to generate instrument recommendations. Google may process this data per their API terms. Google AI Terms

5. Data Storage and Security

Your account data (email, name) is stored securely by Supabase using industry-standard encryption. Your portfolio positions and rate-limit records are stored only in your browser's localStorage and remain entirely on your device — we have no access to this data.

We use HTTPS for all data transmission. We do not store financial instrument queries, portfolio holdings, or trading activity on our servers.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to store:

• Your session token after login
• Your portfolio positions and trade history
• Your hourly search count for rate limiting

This data stays on your device. Clearing your browser's site data will erase it. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies of any kind.

7. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes. Data is shared with the third-party services listed in Section 4 only to the extent necessary to operate the application.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data (email, name) for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your data from Supabase within 30 days. Portfolio data stored in your browser is deleted immediately when you clear your browser's local storage or uninstall the app.

10. Children's Privacy

Trade Your Idea is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Investment Disclaimer

Nothing on this platform constitutes investment advice, a financial recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any financial instrument. All content is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Always conduct your own research and consult a qualified financial advisor before making investment decisions.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
